I got these to make the Slayer sword pentagram. They work well for this, but they are not sharp and would be a poor choose for home protection. Try getting a battle ax if this is your intention.

pros: this sword is a very good quality sword for its price, it makes an excellent fantasy piece and it is very well crafted and detailed. the blade is well connected to the hilt and the sword fits perfectly in the sheath
cons: some of the metal skulls decorating the hilt are loose and wiggle around sometimes, the blade gets dirty easily and is hard to clean |

I got this for my nephew for Christmas 2006. He is really into this stuff. I was very pleased when this product arrived. It is beautiful for the price. We have done his room with Velvet drapes and other things fitting a Knight. We have hung these swords on the wall. It looks beautiful. I made the drapes, pillows, valances and bed skirt.

I bought this sword for my fiance for her first sword. It's really light, so she can handle it well. I personally don't like it, but she's happy so that's all that matters. It's like 2 pounds, if that, so just keep that in mind.
Decent for the $$

Me and a friend bought 2 of these. They look really cool. However they are not sharp at all (hence only 4 stars). For $15 they are really good value though. The hilt is plastic and the blade is a little thin. Other than that they are quite good.
